چکیده

This letter presents a closed-form solution to estimate space-dependent transport parameters of linear one dimensional diffusion-transport-reaction equation. The infinite problem is approximated by finite model 1) taking frequency domain approach, 2) parameterization the unknown parameters, and 3) using semi-discretization. Assuming full state knowledge, commonly used output error criterion rewritten as equation such that results in least squares. optimum then given solution, avoiding computational expensive optimization methods. Functioning proposed method illustrated means simulation.

On the Closed-Form Solution of a Nonlinear Difference Equation and Another Proof to Sroysang’s Conjecture

The purpose of this paper is twofold. First we derive theoretically, using appropriate transformation on x(n), the closed-form solution of the nonlinear difference equation x(n+1) = 1/(±1 + x(n)), n ∈ N_0. The form of solution of this equation, however, was first obtained in [10] but through induction principle. Then, with the solution of the above equation at hand, we prove a case ...

A closed-form solution to blind equalization

1 Abstract In some recent papers new algorithms for blind adaptive equalization were proposed. These algorithms are based on the stochastic gradient method and thus can be regarded as a blindd counterpart to the classic LMS-(least mean squares-) algorithms. It is well-known that these algorithms show relatively slow convergence speed. The classic solution to get fast convergence is the RLS-(rec...

A closed-form solution to HZE propagation.

An analytic solution for high-energy heavy ion transport assuming straight-ahead and velocity-conserving interactions with constant nuclear cross-reactions is given in terms of a Green's function. The series solution for the Green's function is rapidly convergent for most practical applications. The Green's function technique can be applied with equal success to laboratory beams as well as to g...

A Closed-Form Solution for the Irradiance due to Linearly-Varying Luminaires

We present a closed-form expression for the irradiance at a point on a surface due to an arbitrary polygonal Lambertian luminaire with linearly-varying radiant exitance. The solution consists of elementary functions and a single wellbehaved special function that can be either approximated directly or computed exactly in terms of classical special functions such as Clausen’s integral or the clos...

A Closed-Form Solution to Tensor Voting: Theory and Applications

We prove a closed-form solution to tensor voting (CFTV): given a point set in any dimensions, our closed-form solution provides an exact, continuous and efficient algorithm for computing a structure-aware tensor that simultaneously achieves salient structure detection and outlier attenuation. Using CFTV, we prove the convergence of tensor voting on a Markov random field (MRF), thus termed as MR...
